Jinja, Uganda

- Served on the school leadership team assisting in all leadership-level decisions around mission, vision, staffing, and running of the school; spearheading or assisting in the development of many of the organizational policies and procedures that were put into place.- Acted in the capacity of a school leader and administrator with special emphasis in serving as a liaison between teachers and the Country Director.- Invested in teaching staff to facilitate curriculum development, lesson plans, etc.- Formed a cross-cultural team of teachers to mentor our staff and to develop a unique curriculum from scratch that combined effective content and learning strategies with the Ugandan national curriculum. - Developed and implemented policies, procedures, and systems for the effective running of the academic day (i.e. Created an academic eligibility policy for students).- Recruited, interviewed, and hired Ugandan and Western teaching staff: ensured the hiring of staff supportive of the mission of the school, and trained them to work across cultural barriers.- Worked with Western department heads to ensure the effective running and management of each classroom, eventually identifying and training Ugandan department heads to take over every department in the school by the end of our second academic year.- Planned and conducted staff meetings and teacher professional development.- Created the master academic timetable for the school: organized classroom, teacher and student schedules and resolved changes and conflicts.- Set up and trained teachers in the use of PowerSchool for attendance, grading, and discipline.- Represented the school at trainings and conferences on Ugandan national curriculum.- Created and managed the academic budgets.- Identified and trained a Ugandan colleague to assume the Director of Studies role for the 2019 school year.

Jinja, Uganda

- Partnered with a Ugandan campus pastor to build a student ministry from the ground up reaching 72 students in each grade level.- Planned Wednesday night chapel activities, small groups, devotions, Sunday morning services, and other ministry programming.- Preached/Taught lessons on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.- Led special small group sessions covering more in-depth topics and concepts- Counseled and mentored students and staff both individually and through training sessions.- Trained and scheduled teachers and small group leaders for Wednesday night services.- Developed multi-level Bible curriculum for the Christian Religious Education classes.- Chaired the Bible Department and co-taught the Christian Religious Education class with a Ugandan partner teacher and campus pastor, empowering him to take over the department.

Franklin, Pa

Atlantic Avenue Church is a growing church in the small community of Franklin, Pennsylvania. It has grown from just over 500 to approximately 600 regular attenders during my time as Lead Pastor of Student Ministries. I manage and direct all aspects of growing youth, children's, and young adult ministries, including the staff and volunteers that work in these ministries.Responsibilities:- Oversee Children's Ministry staff which includes a children's pastor and two part-time assistants. Our children's ministry has 75+ volunteers and ministers to approximately 150 children per week (with over 300 on our active roster)- Oversee Youth Ministry staff and volunteers which includes a youth pastor and 25+ volunteers. Our youth ministry reaches approximately 100 students in grades 7-12 (with 200+ on our active roster).- Oversee Young Adult Ministry volunteer team. Our young adult ministry ministers to anyone out of high school ages 18-25. Atlantic Avenue Church is a growing church that started with approximately 250 regular attenders and grew to over 500 during my time as Youth Pastor. During my first 18 months in this role, I worked with a volunteer base of eight people to rebuild the youth ministry structure from the ground up. Since that time, the youth ministry has grown to over 100 students and our volunteer base has grown to over 25. With the help of my team I have implemented healthy small groups, increased a focus on discipleship, and emphasized student leadership.
