I have been in Financial Services since 1988 can believe that it is so long ago!, my first position was with Prudential as the "man from the Pru" or District Agent as it was then called, I loved the job and meeting with clients and building relationships.I was promoted in 1995 to Sales Manager at the Prudential with my own Sales Team at Bexleyheath and then moved to various other Prudential offices all over Kent as Prudential continually evolved and restructured its business model in the face of a changing market.As a manager I was constantly at the coal face of this change management and had responsibility for delivering sales plans, managing and motivating my sales team and ensuring compliance with the regulations. Eventually Prudential brought the curtain down on the whole direct sales force in 2001 and I was made redundant not a nice feeling and I was determined to never be in that position again, so I become self employed with zero clients in 2001 as an IFA, For the next 5 years I bought mortgage leads from the internet and also proactively developed Professional Introducer relationships with Accountants and Solicitors in my local area, steadily I built a client bank and a successful business.Through these activities in 2010 I met with Crossley and Co Chartered Accountants and as a result of that meeting a joint venture company Star Financial Solutions was born and has been trading in earnest since 2011.
