Several productions and concepts have received both national and Nordic awards. One special area of interest has been the conflicting systems in the world when it comes to social issues.Productions include "The Norden" (2014), a six-part series about the Nordic welfare system that was broadcast in all Nordic countries, Hong Kong, Singapore and Mexico. The Norden was also sold to Netflix, and on YouTube it has gathered millions of online views, instigating constructive debates – even today, four years after publishing. It also won a national award in Finland.The 58 min documentary "Breaking The Cycle" (2017) followed a Norwegian prison warden on a mission to change one of the most notorious prison in the US, Attica Correctional Facility in New York State. The documentary was co-produced with YLE and NRK and has been sold to, for example, DW, DR, VRT, Radio Canada, SRF and Netflix. “Breaking the Cycle” is still used as inspiration for discussions regarding changes in incarceration practices around the world; it is also YLE’s most widely distributed content in the company’s history.
