I am a Certified Nurse Midwife practicing full-scope midwifery in the Washington DC Metro area. I am not currently looking for future opportunities. My goal is to support women's health and normal, physiologic birth through evidence-based practices and family-centered care. Topics of interest include reducing healthcare disparity, group prenatal care, preventing the primary cesarean, vaginal birth after cesarean, hydrotherapy and waterbirth, delayed-cord clamping, uninterrupted skin-to-skin in the golden hour, early initiation of breastfeeding, and perinatal hospice/loss and grief.With almost 20 years of labor and delivery experience and more than 2 years experience with full-scope midwifery care, my obstetric assessment skills are well-refined, and I have become most familiar with the labor and antepartum management strategies that are backed by quality research studies and have become the standard of care. I am enthusiastic about midwifery care throughout the life cycle, and feel fulfilled at each end of the work day providing full-scope care to teens, women in their childbearing years, and menopausal women for everything from well-women exams, contraceptive counseling and prescribing, education and treatment for sexually transmissible infections, preconception counseling, pregnancy care and guidance, labor and childbirth, postpartum and lactation support, perimenopausal evaluation and treatment, and maintaining vitality after menopause.
