Responsible for the lifecycle of a number of image / video processing and video coding projects, from the inception and proposal stage to the final delivery to the customer.Main responsibilities include making project proposals and securing funding, project planning, providing a technical lead and work-plan management for my team, generating IP, delivering solutions to the customer and deciding long-term R&D directions. Also responsible for the optimisation and retargeting of algorithms for limited CPU platforms and ASICs.Active technical and editorial involvement in the ISO/IEC MPEG standardisation process. Editor of the of the latest MPEG-7 standard on Video Signature Tools, and co-chair of the MPEG-7 Visual group.

Developed novel algorithms, software and FPGA designs for image / video processing applications, with a particular focus on deployment in consumer electronics products with limited CPU platforms.
