About Stedman Ellis

Stedman has 20+ years’ experience in senior roles across commercial, government, industry association, research and cultural sectors. With an extensive career in Australia and internationally in the mining and energy sectors, he has more recently worked across renewables (particularly battery industries), research and creative industries. He has an interest in how the creative economy, technological innovation and training, and the transition to a sustainable energy system can contribute to our prosperity. Stedman has served on a number of boards and industry liaison groups and has a significant network across government and industry sectors. As CEO, he led the successful bid and establishment of Australia’s Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre and the development of its research program, advocacy and partnerships.     The Australian Gas Industry Trust (AGIT) provides funding for education, professional development and research in the gas industry. It is also the conduit between the Australian gas industry and the International Gas Union. It is governed by representatives of all sectors of the Australian gas industry: upstream exploration and production, gas transmission pipelines, gas networks and gas appliances. Stedman represented AGIT in International Gas Union meetings in France, Columbia and Oman and helped facilitate the delivery of AGIT's successful bid to host the LNG18 in Perth in 2016 which attracted more than 8,700 delegates.
