Pacific Clinics is California’s largest and most comprehensive mental and behavioral health provider. As the Director of Research and Evaluation, I oversaw the business activities, forecasting and operations of the agency’s 14-member Outcomes and Evaluation Department. I managed the development and maintenance of our Electronic Health Record, Tableau Server and Data Warehouse for data analysis and reporting; oversaw the creation of dashboards and reports related to agency clinical risk and outcomes; coordinated with agency leadership to identify priorities for continuous quality improvement; created internal and external communications and publications regarding clinical outcomes; and represented the agency on national, regional, state and county community boards, committees, forums and panels.

Cardea Services has a 40-year history of providing training, organizational development and research & evaluation services to health and human service agencies throughout the U.S. As a Research and Evaluation Manager, I oversaw a portfolio of 8 projects, implementing empirically driven research and evaluation. Expertise included study design; instrument development; data collection coordination; data system management (EMR, CRM); analysis, interpretation, visualization, and preparation of reports and research summaries; and presentation of findings to relevant stakeholders. Evaluation project areas included HIV/AIDS testing, linkage to and retention in care in jail settings; increasing the capacity of clinics to integrate STD express visit testing into their array of services; a CA-wide effort to implement evidence-based sexual health education curricula; direct evaluation support for early childhood development programs. In my role as Evaluation Manger, I directly supported data collection and new evaluation strategy for all Playworks service models and 13 regional teams. I designed and managed interactive reports and dashboards in Tableau and Salesforce to provide actionable results to our national and regional staff. I trained staff to conduct their internal CQI processes to support a data informed culture across the company. I also worked closely with our Marketing and Communications team to ensure accurate translation of our data to external audiences, and supported ongoing research activities with university and consulting partners.

• Conducted a literature review on national readiness for introducing Pneumococcal, Rotavirus and HPV vaccines into Latin American countries.• Developed 125-page, interactive e-Learning Modules to assist health officials with the countrywide implementation of these vaccines. • Uploaded the modules to PAHO’s Virtual Campus.

• Created and implemented a volunteer orientation for perinatal classes in Latinx communities in Columbia, South Carolina. • Conducted qualitative interviews with program participants to investigate nutritional education and pregnancy outcomes in Oaxaca, Mexico and Columbia, South Carolina. • Worked as a teacher’s assistant and translator for medical visits.
