When our team was first assembled at the University of Idaho, we began exploring an area that none of us were familiar. • Eri Economic Research Institute
    Research Analyst
Eri Economic Research Institute Jun 2007 - Nov 2008
Economic Research Institute (ERI) provides compensation and job data through software products, web applications and salary survey reports. I worked on many projects while at ERI. My first project was to work with a programmer/marketer on building workflow requirements for Abbott, Langer Association Surveys (ALAS), a newly acquired affiliate of ERI. I helped design and test the design of the new ALAS web site, online and paper survey questionnaires, and made recommendations on how to improve the new design. I also created ALAS customer service procedures and trained ALAS customer service representatives. I was also responsible for training employees and customers how to use ERI’s compensation software. Occasionally I would take customer service calls when they would overflow from the call center or happen to deal with more complex issues. Other responsibilities included coordinating the design, testing and debugging of multiple company owned web sites with programmers and other researchers. I tested ERI’s Assessor Software quarterly for functionality and data errors. I was also part of a team as the usability analyst, which transitioned ERI’s internal CRM system to Salesforce an outsourced CRM software product. I tested incoming leads and customer data, analyzed, and made recommendations to programmers regarding how and what data could be presented for use by the sales staff, developed workflow processes of how leads were managed within Salesforce, and trained the sales manager, account managers, and customer service representatives on how to effectively use Salesforce.
  • University Of Idaho
    Web Usability And Analytics Intern
University Of Idaho Jan 2007 - Jun 2007
I was part of a five person team that was tasked to redesign the University of Idaho’s web site. Our goal was to design a web site that increased web performance and user satisfaction while decreasing errors and confusion. We conducted many types of research to accomplish our goal. We completed surveys, usability tests, task analysis, competitive analysis, group contextual inquires and ethnographic studies to identify requirements of the redesign. I also monitored the University’s web site traffic with web analytical tools. The web analytics were used to uncover what web visitors were doing. This data helped inform and validate the usability research we were conducting. My partner and I would then analyze the data gathered from all of our research to create reports which helped us to recommend changes based on our findings. Our team would then present the reports the University’s internal stakeholders. One of the web applications we researched, developed, and designed was the University’s degree/major finder, which has won multiple awards.
  • University Of Idaho
    Teaching Assistant
University Of Idaho Aug 2005 - May 2007
I was awarded an assistantship while I was a graduate student at the University of Idaho. During my first semester I was a teaching assistant for two psychology courses. My duties were to grade tests, grade daily assignments and to maintain the grade sheets on Excel. For two semesters I was made a lab assistant for the undergraduate research methods classes. I was responsible to teach a weekly two hour class. I took part in weekly curriculum planning meetings with the professor and the other lab assistants. I would lead the class through various research projects such as observational, survey, and experimental. I would then analyze the classes’ research project data using Excel and SPSS. I also trained the students how to use Excel and SPSS to analyze their data. I held office hours to assist students with their homework questions and research paper. My last semester I was a teaching assistant for a graduate level advanced research methods class. I graded weekly statistics assignments and assisted students with statistics questions related to course work and assignments. I also guest lectured to teach the class how to use SPSS to analyze data.
