Binnen het Rijnstate ziekenhuis (topklinisch ziekenhuis) ben ik werkzaam op de afdeling ergotherapie waarin ik verantwoordelijk ben voor het zelfstandig onderzoeken en behandelen van patiënten met handletsel variërend van complex (pees, zenuwletsel en crushletsel) tot relatief eenvoudige problematiek (artrose, fracturen en overbelastingsklachten). Belangrijk taken van de handherapeut in deze organisatie is functioneel trainen, spalktherapie (maken, analyseren en toepassen van spalken in dagelijkse behandeling) en advisering op het gebied van participatie.Tevens ben ik verantwoordelijk voor kennisoverdracht naar collega's en verbeteren van werkprocessen samen met de andere teamleden.Inhoudelijk zijn we met ons team bezig met ontwikkeling van protocollen en het verbeteren van de samenwerking binnen het ziekenhuis om de zorg voor patiënten met handletsel nog verder te verbeteren. Daarnaast is het doel om regiobreed een netwerk vorm te geven om mensen professionele zorg te verlenen.
