Focused on profits by strengthening relationships with selected existing clients and tendering for projects where the company had incumbent status or a clear competitive advantage. Generated three major projects and a several new clients.Turned around performance to exceed budgeted net earnings by 6% in the first year. Developed and implemented an Enterprise Resource Planning system, maintaining overhead costs at 2.5% of sales by eliminating, reducing processing times and re-work and enabling the business to submit accurate and timely invoices which significantly enhanced its relationships with clients and improved the firm’s cash flow.Negotiated rate increases of 8-10% in maintenance contracts with the firm’s top two clients by identifying and recommending strategies that would reduce client costs.Implemented an AS 4801 compliant safety management system which was instrumental in reducing safety risks and injuries and provided a basis for negotiating a 1.8% reduction in workers compensation premiums.Developed, implemented and managed an apprenticeship support program to fast track apprenticeships for which the company received an employer of the year award. Enabled the company to employ an average of 10 apprentices a year to alleviate skill shortages and positioned it favourably to secure major contracts.

WA-based agricultural machinery manufacturing business specialising in the R&D and production of specialised heavy steel farm machinery.Increased productivity by 36%, throughput by 7% and significantly reduced inventory by developing and implementing a Lean Manufacturing System. Secured the support of the board of this family business to change entrenched approaches by initially implementing components of system. The resulting rapid improvements in production efficiency enabled the business to purchase inputs in smaller quantities less frequently to improve cash flow.
