    Employed as 2016 Year in Industry Intern at Mechanical Methods Department of Rolls-Royce Plc. I worked in the Vibrations Software Management Team. Tasks included:• Investigation of whether a modal output file could be transformed to a mass and stiffness matrix using the SEREP method in Matlab.• Debugging of python test suite used to evaluate Roll’s Royce’s in house vibrations code JM62.• Adding capability to python test suite including ability to analyse bifurcated results and capability for entire test suite to be run in Linux from command line.• Use of test suite to identify faults in development, trials, and released versions of JM62.• Creation of git repository in eclipse juno and accompanying tutorial to allow coordination of test suite development with Imperial College London.• Support of JM50 pre-processing software for JM62. Identified and reported faults to help QuEST Global in India to resolve them. Created end to end tutorial for 2 blade turbine blade test case now in use in UK and India.• Investigation of physical causes of bifurcations in whole engine models of Trent 700 Engines. Matlab, python and SJ19 and SJ41 post-processing software for JM62 were all used to gain full understanding of phenomenon. Results were detailed in 53 page initial report.• Creation of simplified test case for investigating bifurcations in whole engine models. Passed to Imperial College London for use in updating bifurcations portion of JM62.• Creation of prototype in Matlab for new method of identifying perturbed bifurcations in JM62.• Recruiting 4 replacement interns and leading them through the entire induction and training process.• Managing in house code usage statistics across all of Rolls–Royce and producing analysis of data as required by management.
