Medirect Bank is a specialist banking group offering a range of market leading savings products, wealth management and investment services. I have the pleasure of leading a highly talented team, working in a truly fast paced multicultural, international business. Together, we embarked on a transformation process, revising the architecture and various infrastructure platforms in place. Some key achievements: • Overhauled MeDirect network infrastructure to meet current and future demands in terms of performance and resiliency. • Designed and commissioned a multi-tier security infrastructure and seamlessly migrated all banking systems, both locally and abroad. • Facilitated the consolidation all the Group’s operations into a modern office space in Tigne Business Centre. • Enhanced the infrastructure security posture through various targeted initiatives.• Replaced the Group’s voice recording system in line with GDPR requirements. • Improved collaboration using state-of-the-art video conferencing systems and cloud solutions.• Enhanced web hosting resiliency, performance and security through the cloud service provision.• Day-to-day operations of all Group’s LAN, WAN, Security, Voice and Video infrastructure.

Managing a team of 18 members with mixed competences and specialisations.• Coordination of the various operational issues, working under pressure to restore services and meet the pre-defined service levels• Project managing internal initiatives and high profile projects using Prince 2 methodology; the most prominent being the network build-up of the MITA Data centre together with the Government Core Network upgrade interlinking the 2 Government Data Centres having a combined budget of €800K. Currently project managing the Government firewalls technology refresh project having a budget of €2.8 Million.• Operations management of over 2,500 LANs, 650 WAN links all encrypted and secured, 153 firewalls, Corporate Internet service, 2 – active-active corporate data centres, Embassies, and critical Government sites connected via different technologies and service providers• Review, negotiations and renewals of clients’ and suppliers’ service contracts• Active member of various ICT Strategy committees • Business Processes re-definition, such as the Change Management process, Suppliers escalation processes, New Links installations and Maintenance of Tools procedures• Implemented strong security measures on the management of all networking devices including management tools to enhance authentication, authorization and accountability of the systems being managed by the team• Knowledge sharing initiatives such as monthly technical meetings, presentations to other service / project teams and budding fellow team members• Recruitment, running Performance Appraisals and drafting training plans for the team members• Managing and driving ISO 27001 compliance aspect within the Networks Team. The team was amongst the first to be accredited this important security certification within MITA • Planning, budgeting, drafting business cases and issuing the necessary tenders for the replacement of all WAN links and equipment contracts across Government
