Division of Innovations in Human Health & Life Sciences (Department of Chemistry & Pharmaceutical Sciences)Among others I teach Biochemistry in the bachelors Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mathematics, Science business & innovation and Medical Natural Sciences as well as in the Chem4All programme. I am also involved in academic skills education in the bachelor Pharmaceutical sciences and master Drug Discovery & Safety.

I am working on my PhD research in the Molecular and Computational Toxicology research group at the VU University Amsterdam. My project is supervised by Prof. dr. Nico Vermeulen (promotor), Dr. Jan Commandeur (co-promotor) and Dr. Chris Vos (co-promotor).My project is a part of the MIP-DILI project. This IMI-funded consortium is aiming for more accurate test models for the prediction of drug induced liver injury (DILI).My research project focusses on the quantative characterization of the metabolic pathways involved in the bio-activation and bio-inactivation of drugs known to cause idiosyncratic adverse drug reactions. Polymorphisms in the enzymes involved in the metabolism of these drugs can affect the bio-activation and bio-inactivation balance, thereby possibly providing a mechanism explaining or even predictive of the idiosyncrasy of the side-effects.
