Communicating any developments in Health and Safety legislation, management practices and advances within the industry to support compliance and incident prevention.Supporting the sites management team in the monitoring and review of standards, the development and implementation of effective Health and Safety strategies, procedures and improvement plans Supporting an effective employee safety consultation group and specific subject and work area focus groups to encourage ownership, employee participation and engagement Collating and maintaining incident and injury statistics, ill health and health surveillance information and provide reports, trend analyses and KPI information for the site team and the UK Health and Safety Department.Assisting managers, supervisors, employees and contractors in health and safety development by undertaking Visible Felt Leadership tours and one to one health and safety mentoring to improve the health and safety culture and minimise the potential for injury. Managing the selection, arrangement and control of dust, noise, ionizing radiation and hazardous substances monitoring services.Liaising with contractor companies and their employees during plant normal operations and shutdown activities to ensure H&S standards are not compromised.Monitoring the administration of risk assessments, methods of work & site procedures, undertaking auditing and reviewing systems to satisfy legal and corporate requirements, whilst identifying areas for improvement.Implementing OHSAS 18001 from start through to the finish, ensuring that all documentation is up to date and readily available.Participating on the weekend management call out system and night shift health and safety coverage during major overhauls. Manage the sites equipment reliability functions, such as vibration analysis, lubrication management and maintenance planning, with the aim of raising the reliability of the plant, while maintaining high safety standards and targeting zero LTI's. Managing the maintenance planning department ensuring that all planned work, both corrective and preventative are scheduled correctly and are carried out efficiently. Managing the sites computer based system (SAP), updating the plant structure with new installations and generating any new Planned Prevenative Maintenance routines required. Focused on continuous improvement, to raise the plants reliability, which is monitored monthly through kpi's, which are presented to senior management . Leading teams in all areas to tackle ongoing issues, and engineer out the problems.Review and update as necessary the plants critical spare parts list, ensuring all items are classified correctly in SAP, and highlighting any short falls. Assist senior management with ensuring the plant is ready for auditing, from the EA, FM Global, and internal control.Vibration data collection and analysis (incl database maintenance) on a variety of equipments on 3 sites, and managing any corrective action such as fan balancing etc. Manage the sites lubrication engineers covering 3 sites, ensuring oil samples are taken, analysed and action taken when required. Managing the sites compressed air utility contract and assisting national procurement with the retender of this contract. Manage all requirements for insurance inspections, for pressure vessels and lifting equipment. Carry out all SAP training for site personnel, building and issuing help manuals etc. Controlling and responsible for a section of the site with regards to health and safety.
