BSc Business Management

Under the direction of a principal and co-investigator, I worked on a research project (DART – Decision, Attitude, Risk & Thinking) within the university’s Behavioural Science Department in the Observation Lab, coding months of data using specialised software.

Starlite festival, known as the best boutique festival in Europe, after 9 editions is the longest-lasting festival with more than 50 days of concerts. - After a rigorous and competitive selection process, I was employed fulltime during my first summer break from university to provide a front of house service in the demanding VIP Lounges, their Gala charity event.- Both mental and physical stamina were key to remain efficient in a highly stressful work environment for 12-hour shifts. - Ability to work effectively within a team, including team management, accountability for stock/cash control, ensuring a seamless transition for the next event. - My languages skills were put to good use dealing with both domestic and international clients.

Volunteer Marshall As an avid golfer, when I saw the advert for volunteers needed, I did not hesitate to contact this company. I was then invited by the organisers to assist in marshalling the televised event for the Miguel Angel Jimenez Circuito. This consisted of planning the competition and then keeping accurate scores of players to upload to the televised broadcast event. This meant that I had to be approachable and friendly with excellent communication skills. Additionally, we had to work independently following the players around the course, keeping in contact with the organisers to check their progress. As a form of gratitude for our help, we were given the chance to help the PGA pro himself and organise the prizegiving ceremony.

Administration I worked here during my summer holidays to help with my finances ahead of my university studies. This role required me to coordinate the new stock for all classrooms around the school. Here, I was held responsible for ensuring the correct distribution of new arrivals, and I was employed to assist the administration department in preparation for the new academic year. Attention to detail was vital to ensure correct deliveries to the various departments.

Reception / Customer Service & ReservationsAt Marbella Golf I worked to gain experience in the customer service industry and wanted to improve upon my interpersonal skills. I was given the task of answering calls to book lessons, schedule corporate events and check availability of tee times for busy months ahead. I was able to thoroughly improve upon my communication skills by interacting with international customers on a daily basis. I had to learn how to correctly prioritise time sensitive tasks, such as booking important society events from abroad, which helped me refine my time management skills. Moreover, I had to make sure I listened and interpreted what my superiors wanted in order to make sure the tasks were completed to the businesses’ high standards.
