Stefan Herbert, born 1977 in Fulda, studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf and received his Diploma in 2001. In 2001, he was selected to join the Postgraduate Masterclass at Art Academy Düsseldorf to study architecture and urbanism in the class of Elias Zenghelis, Laurids Ortner, Axel Schultes and Karl-Heinz Petzinka. He graduated as Master of Arts in 2004 and then joined METRO Group Asset Management and worked on several international projects, especially the award-winning project M1 Meydan Ümraniye in Istanbul. Together with Foreign Office Architects he was responsible to develop and implement the design from the outset. As project architect, since 2009 as leading Architect, he was responsible for a wide range of projects in Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia, India, as well Asia-Pacific focusing on contemporary architecture and urban master planning in the retail sector. Since 2013 he is heading the Corporate Project Development Studio, an international team consisting of architects and designers, working on concepts with focus on latest trends in the retail and real estate sector. The main focus of the work is research and analysis of a given challenge, master planning and developing prototypical solutions in the field of contemporary architecture and urbanism.
