Stefan M. Marković graduated in The Faculty of Science in Kragujevac, study group – biology (2012), where he also obtained a master’s degree titled “Similarity of barley and oat varieties according to beta glucan content” in 2014. He was enrolled in 2014 on Doctoral academic studies (PhD studies) of biology, at the same Faculty. The doctoral thesis titled “Biochemical characterization of selected plant species from the genera Triticum, Avena and Triticosecale under conditions of heat stress”, was defended on 18th November 2021. On 14th January 2015, he became a Junior Researcher at the Institute of Biology and Ecology at Faculty of Science, University of Kragujevac. On 31st August 2016 he was promoted to position of Assistant at Faculty of Science, University of Kragujevac where he is currently employed. As a coordinator of the biochemical section, he participated in the project "Popularization of Ecology in Rural Areas of Kragujevac" for 2016, funded by the Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Fund of the City of Kragujevac. From 2014 to 2019, he has participated in research on the project of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia TR-31092 - "Study of the genetic basis for improving the yield and quality of small grains in different environmental conditions".Since 2014, he has been successfully engaged in scientific research at the Laboratory of Biochemistry, Institute of Biology and Ecology at the Faculty of Science in Kragujevac, Republic of Serbia. During his research work, he has acquired knowledge and skills in the field of Biochemistry. He is studying biochemical and physiological characteristics of plants in different environmental conditions. Research has been expanded to examine their susceptibility in high air temperatures. Research involved studying of heat stress proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, enzymes and other important biomolecules including amino acids and their antioxidative activity. He is the author or coauthor of 36 bibliographic units, witch 11 of them have been published in journals on SCI list.
