Focussed on shaping a more harmonious future for nature and people, Stefan is a professional ecologist and conservationist with 15 years experience working in the UK and internationally. In the UK, Stefan has provided mitigation and compliance advice on national infrastructure projects for a number of protected species within a variety of ecologically sensitive and protected areas. Internationally, Stefan has worked with a broad range of stakeholders, ranging from grass roots organisations through to governments and global conservation NGOs. Working in South America, South East Asia, Southern Africa and Oceania, Stefan has advised on protected area management and biodiversity-monitoring best practice, programme managed a global conservation initiative, contributed to the development of national environmental laws, the development of numerous PES schemes - including ecotourism and wildlife friendly agriculture schemes. Stefan has also researched the ecological underpinnings of tropical biodiversity in Papua New Guinea and has supervised, managed and mentored numerous students in environmental science, conservation and ecology.In his spare time, Stefan enjoys looking for and identifying beetles and any other species that catch his eye.
