About Dr. Stefan Piehler
Stefan Piehler was born in Germany in 1983. He has studied mechatronic engineering at the University of Stuttgart with a focus on control engineering and laser technology. After receiving his degree of “Diplom-Ingenieur” with distinction (equivalent to a M.Sc.) in 2010, he has been working as postgraduate researcher and PhD student at the Institut für Strahlwerkzeuge (IFSW) at the University of Stuttgart. From 2015, he has been heading the Beam shaping and beam characterization group. In 2017, he has finished his PhD-thesis on intra-cavity deformable mirrors for high-power, high-brightness thin-disk lasers and has received his PhD degree (Dr.-Ing.). Since 2018, he is working at TRUMPF Lasersystems for Semiconductor Manufacturing.
