My and the work of our group is centered around applications of laser time-of-flight distance measurement in robotics, transport, surveying, for safety and security, imaging and other applications. Scintec develops and markets meteorological measurement equipment, mostly remote sensing for atmospheric turbulence, wind speed and direction, temperature, UV, (thermal) flux measurement, etc. I have participated in and overseen the development of a combined radar and RASS (think: following sound waves in the atmosphere using radar) wind profiler at Frankfurt airport and devices for acoustic atmospheric profiling.
