I am a licensed architect with 12 years of experience in custom residential architecture with a splash of multi-family throughout my career. I have always had a passion for beauty whether that was through some graphic design adventures throughout college or via the amazing playground of custom residential architecture that Austin, Texas has to offer. I started off as what we called an Intern Architect back then. My work ethic has never changed. Along the lines of work hard, play hard, I went through all roles as an architect, all the way up to acting Managing Principal. Today, I am Director of Operations, with select CEO, CFO, Human Resources, IT, and BIM Manager responsibilities.I always thought I had to become an amazing architect, so I did. But I was never passionate about it. What I learned was that I can accomplish anything that was in front of me. Over the years, I found that I was much more attracted to the business and operations side of architecture. My intimate experience with the architectural process puts me in a unique position to positively influence the behind the scenes.I have only been at three different architecture firms so far, so I am hard to get rid of. Or in other words, I am loyal and will put in the effort it takes to make a relationship work. I am always looking forward and upward, sometimes too far, but combined with my love for detail, that makes me exceedingly versatile. I love a place with growth potential and a shiny future.I don‘t shy away from a fight and am not afraid to fight the good fight.I am being told that my german heritage is shining through every now and then but I decided to read this as a sign of appreciation for my determination and ability to make decisions.I love being a mentor and equally love being mentored. I work best in a team with a team to lead and guide and with upwards support to assist me where I want to go next. I am not good at following blindly but will be a true asset when I believe in someone else’s vision.Family and a more balanced life has become more important to me. I learned that I can be more effective the more balanced my life is. My family gives me strength and inspiration which has a positive impact on my work.I learned to love and embrace remote work as we likely all did throughout the pandemic. I think there is a place for in-person interaction while recognizing the importance of a balanced and streamlined life. All you parents out there know what I’m talking about. The perfectionist in me wants to master every aspect of life so I have to find the right balance.
