At Citibank NA I worked on cash management applications. My main task was to convert a prototype single-site implementation into a global deployment. The application handled $30 billion transactions per day. Technical skills utilised included Windows NT 4.0 & 3.51, Microsoft Visual C++ 2.2, 4.2 & 5.0, MFC, SQL Server 4.21 & 6.5, Microsoft RPC, Multi-threaded MFC applications and NT services, OO design using Objectory design tool, PVCS, thread-safe ODBC, Performance Monitor DLLs, Event Logging, ODS extended stored procedures for SQL Server. Migration from VC 2.2 to 4.2. Migration from SQL Server 4.21 to 6.5. Stored procedures. Java Intranet client, sockets I/O completion ports, HTML, CORBA (Orbix 2.2 & OrbixWeb). DES data encryption implementation in Java & C++. Year 2000 migration and testing. Evaluation of migration from SQL Server to Oracle 8. Euro compliance modifications. As part of this role I was involved in evaluating Java 1.0 as a technical platform.

Began my career as a trainee programmer working in asset management. Developed financial applications capable of calculating daily electricity transmission fees across the entire UK electricity transmission network. Worked on ENERGIS telecoms project and its charging.
