One focused on intercultural considerations within the GCC and the professional development gained has been applied across other roles. The intercultural consultancy focused on updating collateral (materials, branding, standardisation) to position the company for future growth.• The Service Manager role sought to bring business skills to promote sales & account management & successfully opened the sales process to non-technical decision-makers.

Tasked to develop a small charity’s expansion and expand services into new areas of business too. I brought in, from a zero base, around £700,000’s contracted new business within 14 months. I helped form the nature of the organisation’s services in respect of non-custodial services and got funding for untried and untested services.

I project managed and ran a turnkey European Social Fund project cycle through a brokerage approach. I had to source new activities from non-traditional providers while coordinating various simultaneous activities across different organizations, and get these providers to meet mainstream quality requirements, as well as encourage disaffected learners to participate while ensuring sound financial management.

Shortly after joining was the candidate selected to lead this programme. I was tasked to deliver updated contractual requirements and to maintain and improve programme outcomes. I ensured that learning elements were introduced, value-added services were provided, and that financial resources were better utilised.

As a diplomat my role was representational in promoting my country (South Africa), my service and those multilateral organisations South Africa belonged to and in which I had a function, to foreign diplomatic representatives, as well as to foreign and South African captains of industry, top, senior and junior bureaucrats, government contractors, investors, military/security representatives and the general public as needed. This promotional task included sales, marketing and business development aspects, as well as the maintenance of relationships.
