"R&D Software Developer and special application engineering" For the Machine Vision Business Unit of Datalogic Industrial Automation I am involved in the development of image processing software tools as well as in the design of new hardware products for specific markets and applications like Tobacco, Pharma, Packaging, Food&Beverages, Automotive, Tires, Logistics. I am responsible for the R&D of 3D tools like stereo camera systems and 3D reconstruction algorithms development but my activities include other fields of expertise like geometrical pattern sorting, SW lifecycle management and benchmarking of specific algorithm implementations on PC based HW and embedded/DSP platforms. Parallel to my R&D role I am tasked with support of the applications of new R&D SW and HW tools following the Application Engineers Group in the integration of special projects: field performance tests, requirements analysis and specifications drafting, CFR21 part 11 compliant implementation, qualification and validation protocols. I usually perform product demonstrations at customer site, in order to introduce customers to the new product I am working on as a software developer and technical expert.Along with these tasks, I am working also as a technical writer, writing functional specifications, FAT, SAT, user’s manual, project documentation and technical reports.I am skilled in assisting the client in determining his/her needs and I am able to work out the details of a product and tailor it to address the final customer’s requirements. For this reason I often participate in information gathering meetings with clients to determine their needs, business goals, and desired outcomes.

This company is mainly focused on traffic enforcement systems that use image processing. I worked in the R&D group on the development of a 3D stereoscopic device to detect vehicle behaviour and perform traffic analysis. I developed some new features of this product and I also defined and developed a calibration and verification procedure for the vision system. Main areas of interest are image processing and analysis.

Researcher on stereoscopic vision systems for Augmented Reality.- Analysis and development of a 3D stereoscopic vision system, from calibration task to tridimensional reconstruction.- Software development in C++, using also OpenSource libraries ( OpenGL, Lapack, GLUT, OpenCV...)- Co-relatof for an Mechanical Engineering thesis on a monoscopic vision system dedicated to 3D reconstruction through a single camera monted on a robotic arm (project developed in MATLAB).
