I provided technical support in the development of research on liver transplant recipients and hepatitis patients. During my activities, I contributed to the collection and initial analysis of data, which became part of the Liver Transplant Service database at Hospital das Clínicas de São Paulo.

I was responsible for preparing biology lessons focused on ENEM (SAT-like exam) and other entrance exams, developing lesson plans and original study materials. Over the years, we achieved increasingly positive results, reflected in the growing number of students admitted to colleges and universities.From 2020 to 2021, we worked remotely, and in 2021, we formed our first nationwide class. As a coordinator, I was responsible for preparing, administering, and grading bimonthly mock exams in the ENEM format, helping our students face the exam with confidence. This work significantly contributed to our success in getting students admitted to both public and private universities.As a result of this action, we had four publications by the Federal Institute of São Paulo, demonstrating the effects and realities faced over the years of our operation.

During my training, I integrated with the Infectious Diseases, Liver Transplant (Digestive System Surgery Service), and Laboratory teams at Hospital das Clínicas in an international project on the human gut microbiome. My primary focus was on detecting multidrug-resistant bacteria in the hospital environment and exploring their correlations with the recovery of liver transplant recipients.During this period, I developed essential skills, such as collecting and organizing medical data from patient records, handling and storing biological samples, and effectively using the REDCap platform. Additionally, I managed the transplant team’s database.Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Alice Tung Wan Song, in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine of USP and the Hospital das Clínicas of USP, this work significantly contributed to understanding the implications of the microbiome in post-transplant recovery, highlighting the importance of detecting resistant bacteria in hospital settings.

During my internship, I conducted an intervention project on energy pathways using an animal model of Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD). The objective was to explore the use of Fenofibrate, a PPARa antagonist, to restore cardiac function, a prevalent symptom in ADPKD.This collaborative study was carried out at the Laboratory of Cellular, Genetic, and Molecular Nephrology, under the guidance of Dr. Luiz Fernando Onuchic and Prof. MSc. Lívia Maria Gruli Barbosa. We also had the valuable contribution of Vitória Ribeiro Conrado da Silva (in memoriam) in the renal function studies.We utilized a variety of techniques, including animal handling, PCR genotyping, echocardiography, immunohistochemistry, urea measurement and biostatistical analysis, along with an extensive review of specialized literature.The project aimed to assess the feasibility of Fenofibrate as a potential therapeutic intervention for cardiac function impaired by ADPKD, thereby expanding our understanding of possible treatments for this complex condition.
