Per diem positionResponsibilities:-Pre-op, circulating, and PACU nurse at an outpatient surgical facility.-Experience with plastic, vascular, GI, hernia, and UFE procedures.-Prepare patients for surgery including making sure consents are signed, baseline vital signs and assessment, starting IVs, and area prep.-Circulating in OR- help to set up sterile field with correct implements, position patients, prep patients, in charge of time out to verify right patient, procedure, side, and doctors, assist doctors and techs, monitor and confirm correct counts.-After surgery, observe patients while recovering from sedation while minimizing risks and monitoring for and managing possible post-op complications. Take vital signs, give post-op medications, provide discharge and aftercare teaching and instruction.

Full time positionTelemetry/DOU nurse-Managed a 4 person case load on a busy telemetry/ direct observation unit-Performed thorough physical assessments to accurately manage patients with complex cardiac and multi-system illnesses- Accurately dispensed medications with attention to possible drug interactions and side effects- Started and managed IVs and IV medications and therapies including but not limited to: antibiotics, cardiac medications, pain medications, TPN, and blood products - Coordinated with Doctors and other healthcare professionals to create the a multi-disciplinary plan of care to ensure best possible outcomes for patients- Occasionally floated to CCU
