I believe that -given the proper support and resources- every child can thrive.Through my work during the past 25 years, I have been responsible for the oversight of educational, social, and organizational programs and practices, leading staff, improving processes and outcomes, and supporting capacity building efforts across diverse settings and methodologies. I have led home-, school-, and community-based projects with populations experiencing migration, poverty, violence, and inadequate developmental and educational opportunities. I have developed a broad understanding of the issues to be considered when aiming to shift practices, work collaboratively, and build capacity. I have worked in partnership with multiple government institutions in the USA and Latin America, building and sustaining trusting relationships based on commitment, the pursuit of excellence, measurable results, and ethical practice. I have published and presented numerous studies investigating the relationships between child outcomes and risk factors such as language, education, poverty, and home environments. I have been involved in the design, implementation, and evaluation of large scale programs and interventions aimed at reducing these risk factors and strengthening protective factors. My personal approach, while warm and friendly, balances the big picture with a detail-oriented focus. I am mission- and goal-driven, and committed to quality and ethical practice.
