Has extensive knowledge of basic pathogens found in food products in terms of pH, incubation times and temperatures, media requirements, and aerobic/ anaerobic specifications. Also responsible for dilution pipetting techniques of client samples to determine specified plate counts of various countable colonies. Proficient in agar specifications for APC, Yeast/Mold, Lactobacillus fermentum and E. Coli testing along with petri film pipetting. Specially trained in Standard Quality Control (SQC) techniques to ensure media and inoculation quality and specifications. Also specially trained to work with live cultures and known inoculations.

Ensures finished wine meets quality and safety standards inside and out. Proficient in HACCP responsibilities and prevention. Responsible for performing analytical and microbiological testing to ensure finished product meets strict company and government specifications. Proficient in aseptic microbiological plating and filtering, along with plate reading of yeast, mold and certain pathogens. Other tasks include working with the 5-S system, HACCP work, controlling monthly inventory, illustrating and creating work SOPs and daily work with SAP. Faces daily problem solving opportunities and works with the QC team to solve and improve the department. Works on the safety comity to practice and enforce a safe and productive working environment.
