I am pursuing a career in social media, advertising, or content marketing because they focus on my passion for storytelling.I am a reader. I have always loved books and the way reading builds your imagination and creates visions in your mind. I learned to love all sorts of media throughout my life. I’ve heartily embraced the glossy sheen of magazines, the few hours of escapism that movies offer, and the way that television shows can make people cry and laugh each week. I will always love books, but I ultimately enjoy stories, no matter the format. I have come to understand that effective advertisements are trying to tell a brand’s story. And when it is done right, it is beautiful to watch and so exciting. I have watched social media open up a whole new way of storytelling. All of the innovations of the digital age are transforming the way we tell and receive stories. Storytelling, in all different formats and versions, has unlocked creative doors in my imagination. I am ready for the next chapter in my love of stories. I am ready to create stories.Teamwork – I have completed team projects for my Advertising and Promotions class, as well as for Marketing Club. I have worked with many people who all have different personalities and working styles. I have found that I am flexible and work well with almost everyone. Leadership Skills – In my group projects I have often been a team leader. As Co-President of Marketing Club I have developed my leadership skills by working with my Co-President to coordinate our officer team and plan activities.Communication Skills – I was able to help complete my team projects effectively because of my written and oral communication skills.
