The ONE-for-ONE volunteer program matches people receiving support from AHRC NYC with volunteers from the community, based on common interests and common points of view. ONE-for-ONE partners commit to meeting with each other for at least one year, ideally growing into a longer, perhaps lifetime relationship. Volunteers and those supported spend leisure time together to bridge the gap between people with intellectual disabilities and their neighborhoods.

Lucca, Italy

Dance Italia, a month-long Contemporary dance program that takes place each summer in Luuca, Italy, has grown into a vibrant community of artists, students, educators, and choreographers who gather to exchange ideas, explore, and experience a diverse spectrum of dance/movement disciplines. Dancers expand their skills through daily classes, workshops, discussions, informal showings and performances while meeting world-renowned artists through informal discussions and social gatherings.
