Since 2012, I’ve served as a senior content strategist and creative product development lead at NASA headquarters in Washington, D.C. — for ten years in human spaceflight mission directorates before joining the Space Technology Mission Directorate in 2022. In 2016, I took a sabbatical and road tripped to all 59 of America's national parks to explore and document each of them during the centennial anniversary of the U.S. National Park Service. The project was sponsored by National Geographic, Fujifilm, and Airstream (our home-base during the journey.) After my year in the parks and writing a book to commemorate it, I returned to work at NASA where I continue to support the Administration’s goals to push farther into space.I've designed and collaborated on several high-profile creative campaigns during my time at the agency which can be seen on apparel, toys, merchandise, U.S. and international websites, posters, print magazines, feature films (e.g., 'The Martian,') and elsewhere. I was on the core creative development teams for NASA’s Artemis branding and ‘Journey to Mars’ initiatives. When not communicating human exploration in space, I write about exploration on Earth, with articles appearing in The Travel Channel, The National Geographic Society, Thrillist, The Lonely Planet, and The Wall Street Journal. Additionally, I have been featured in on-air radio and podcast segments (The TakeAway WNYC, NPR), and on Good Morning America highlighting our National Parks project. I've had a camera in my hip pocket for at least 20 years which I’ve used to capture my life on the road. My imagery has been used in several multimedia applications and campaigns, including on an Exploration series postage stamp issued by the United States Postal Service.
