Full Time Mba Program
As a full time MBA student at UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School I studied coursework in core areas of Business Administration such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Strategy, and more. I concentrated in Marketing with a focus in Technology, Data Analytics. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic occurring during my MBA experience, I gained valuable knowledge and experience through intensive and hands on coursework in various business functions. I also was heavily involved in social and academic clubs and was a Teaching Assistant in my second year.
Business Analytics - Merchandising Operations
During my summer at Walmart corporate office as a Business Analytics Intern in the Merchandising Operations function, I executed a project in pricing and cost management to support the company's mission "To save people money so they can live better."Part of my project was to analyze competition in the retail space for my assigned department. Using Nielsen data and pricing analysis, I identified strategic areas for price investment to compete with direct and indirect market competitors. I also determined cost discrepancies between suppliers for Walmart stores and Walmart.com for my assigned department during my internship. To remedy the cost discrepancies, I devised a strategic, scalable framework which could be applied to most departments across the company. My project and framework became a launching point for the Merch Ops function to identify cost discrepancies across stores.
Client Engagement Manager (Saas)
For Duke University School of Nursing, I helped manage the launch, growth, and operations of TAMS, a SaaS product/software application designed to transform how higher education institutions organize and schedule resources for optimal workload allocation. As in a start-up-like environment, I participated in multiple functions beyond my title, including everything from development of product marketing and messaging, to content and marketing materials, to opportunity management, to product testing and QA, to contract management and customer success and onboarding. I became the primary point of contact for all client interactions, including selling, marketing, and product demonstrations and research and customer success. I spearheaded our business outreach and strategy, working with the team to identify our total addressable market and target customer segments. I also set our pricing model and renewal process to grow the revenue.During my tenure, I influenced product development by using client interaction data and insights, making the product more efficient and more able to scale for higher profits and usability among current and potential customers. I conducted discovery interviews and led roadmap discussions with clients. I directly contributed to two major releases of the software. As the TAMS Client Engagement Manager, I implemented our Salesforce CRM and managed all parts of the client lifecycle. Operationally, I created our customer onboarding process from scratch and monitored customer success in adopting the software. I created our training and help videos which were featured on our internal website for out client base.
Mission Critical Server Specialist
In my role as a Mission Critical Solution Server Specialist, my daily responsibilities could be categorized as account planning and management, customer success, communications, and strategy execution. My role as a specialist meant I could focus on a specific solution set (primarily dealing with Unix, SAP HANA, Microsoft APS and SQL workloads as well as Oracle DB modernization and migrations) and customer need, rather than selling the commodity portfolio products. In the first 6 months of my position I had grown the pipeline for MCS sales in the Mid-Atlantic region by about $4 mil for the FY. I did work primarily with on premise SAP HANA net-new implementations with commercial companies, which equaled to 99.53% quota attainment for FY16 and 74.28% quota attainment by Q3 of FY17. I also sold a proprietary software solution to monitor the hardware solution and provide the customer with increased value over a typical on premise platform. As a specialist I was also the primary point of contact regarding my solution set and thus primarily was the main presenter and communicator when in the early stages of the sales cycle. Given my educational background, I was very comfortable arranging collateral for internal and external conversations. I also performed administrative tasks as it related to coordinating different teams and cross-functional stakeholders in the project/opportunity. As the MCS specialist for the Mid-Atlantic I had to be strategic with my very expansive territory. I covered commercial accounts in 4 states, ranging in industries from utilities to pharma to financial; I was responsible for Small-Medium businesses to Global accounts, and because of this did an extensive amount of work with the partner/channel network. Part of the strategy in working with the channel was to train/educate and make myself a resource. I also leveraged business intelligence reports and marketing data in order to target specific customers for my solution set.
Sales Representative, Global Commercial Accounts
In my role as an Inside Sales Representative for Global Commercial accounts at Hewlett Packard Enterprise I focused on three areas of expertise: sales management, account/customer management, and process management. I am responsible for IT sales/quota attainment for global accounts in several industries like healthcare, entertainment, and manufacturing. I volunteered to assist with accounts outside of assigned quota in need of a resource to backfill and provide business continuity to increase & maintain sales presence in those accounts. In addition to achieving position metrics and other quantifiable ranking I was able to confidently advise customers on industry trends to suggest solutions and determine products needed for customer projects. I used my knowledge of our portfolio to leverage against competitors. In order to achieve sales goals I lead and master processes in my role. That sometimes includes: fielding all pricing bids, purchase agreements, and other contractual needs for the client, leading and orchestrating touch base calls and communications, advising account team on processes. I had to apply knowledge gained to solve problems & then engaging critical thinking skills to overcome obstacles presented by customers or account team members. I advanced my understanding on technical offerings by configuring solutions independently and staying updated on training for newer technology/products. My account management experience has positively impacted my accounts. I am proactive in establishing routine customer meetings and calls to capture customer initiatives and current/future opportunities. I maintain my level of relationship to customers to become a consultative seller. I leverage new relationships to uncover new business with existing contacts. I also maintain working knowledge of customer projects as well as internal notes/action items in an organized manner that is easily communicable to other members of the team.
Store Manager
During my time as Store Manager I focused on four areas of management and growth: People Management, Performance Management, Profitability Management, and Project Management. It was my position to source, recruit, and select talent from application portals, personal contacts and professional networks. I determined talent’s developmental needs in order to train, engage and retain the top talent for the company. I encouraged staff to engage and commit to job expectations and was strong in effective coaching and/or performance improvement through constructive development and follow-up in a fair manner. To manage performance fiscally I leveraged and grew several KPI’s such as conversion, average ticket, credit card sales volume, and credit card new accounts in my time as SM. Through training and effective leadership I reduced marginal loss by 18%, converted returns at 25% with a positive dollar exchange and was successful in managing payroll within 0.5% target expenditure four out of four quarters while in role. My staff reached and exceeded Ecommerce target for FY14 Q3 and Q4 through extensive training and emphasis on important to grow sales. We ranked 2nd/11 stores in sales region in FY14 for customer e-capture for marketing and traffic building purposes. I used financial reporting and quantitative data to determine sales models and goals for specific periods or quarters.I successfully lead transitions or floor sets and modify company examples to reflect brand standards for store layout. I educated my staff on and executed company brand standards for visual merchandising. I planned statements or primary displays according to store trends and sales records to reflect high volume product or fast moving product, making adjusments based on analysis of store sales data. My staff and I hosted corporate visits/meetings at least twice a year as the Region Home store.
Assistant Store Manager
I was Voted as ASM of the Quarter for FY14 Q4, shortly before being promoted. As ASM I was directly responsible for event sets each month and new sales promotional sets. I was primary on replenishment strategies and execution by actively executing new inventory processing each week. I analyzed sales reports and top ten reports to merchandise top selling product in prominent placement. I helped train and was responsible for a bulk of the sales per month and quarter. I helped lead the sales team of 15-20 employees in company initiatives. I served as direct support with the store manager's responsibilities in their absence.
Sales Leader
I was promoted after two months in the Sales Leader Position. As a Sales Leader I performed supportive managerial duties as described in job description and was primarily responsible for completion of tasks, or other assignments as outlined by upper store management. I was directly responsible for quality of customer service when designated as lead manager which included: Determining customer needs and aligning with company selling culture to reach store goal, leading opening and closing procedures, responsible for 30% of total sales volume, led associates in complete and correct replenishment and recovery of displays according to SOPs, remained committed to excellent customer service.
Sales Associate
