Worked with customers to understand their requirements and issues, then translate this into an optimised design. Includes design and testing of patented framing elements. -
Research Engineer/ Module Assembly SupervisorPacific Solar Pty Ltd Sep 1996 - May 2004Developed pilot line processes for all module assembly processes for the manufacture of a revolutionary thin film photovoltaic technology. This included the research, development and costing of several novel and unique processes, including edge isolation, tabbing, lamination, contact bake, junction box, framing, hi-pot, and light IV. Reduced pilot line module assembly cycle time from 2 days to 2 hours, increased yield from 80% to 99%, and reduced costs from $72 to $39/module. Responsible for all durability testing activities of CSG Solar’s products. Developed new Combined Cycle durability test sequence, which has been reported and adopted internationally.Lead Plug&Power™ product design, including specification, design and wind load analysis.
