I founded the BTD Group in 1997 which provided IT services to FIFA, the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich, Juventus as well as a range of sponsors, telcos and broadcasters. My team was responsible for more than 50 club and stadium projects worldwide, including the digital integration of the Allianz Arena and the preparations for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. BTD went on to support every World Cup since then and were responsible for the IT component of Russia’s successful bid for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.In 2015, BTD was acquired by Sportradar. Shortly after, I joined the management board of Sportradar and have taken the product development lead, overseeing the global roll out of all the company’s Digital Sport products. At the tail end of 2016, I took over leadership of the Digital Sport ROW (rest of the world outside the US) Unit as managing director. What drives me most is my deep understanding of technology and exploring how we can utilize technology to engage with fans all over the world with the help of big data, artificial intelligence and sensors.
