Focusing on developing new educational technology with local and national stakeholders to help support modern medical professionals within new roles as part of the NHS. Partnered with Health Education England to develop a novel e-learning resource to support doctors returning to training (hee.quesmed.com).

Working as part of the UCL academic staff demonstrating anatomy to to the first and second year UCL medical students. This encompasses the complete anatomy of the human body. Teaching the students involved using skeletons, cadavers and plastic models.

Working with Dr. Chakraverty and investigating the role of non-hematopoietic stromal cells in promoting immunological tolerance, specifically in a Graft versus Host murine models. The skills and techniques involved are real time PCR, dissection of secondary lymphoid organs from mice, working in sterile environments, counting cells with hemocytometer and use of Fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) machines.

Student led project to improve and develop the Vertical Module Virtual Learning Environment (VM VLE). By working closely with the VM academic team and staff, I worked with a group of two other students to improve the current site and program. This project impacts all six years of medical students. Funding was achieved through the TEDI (Targeted Education Development & Innovation) fund.

UCL Be The Change is large student-led initiative consisting of medical and pharmacy students, running throughout the year and working on quality improvement projects. The initiative was born out the notion that medical students and allied health care professionals can see hospitals in a different light to managers. We want to propose a model how students can work (for free) with experienced professionals to improve patient care and make our NHS more efficient!We won the NHS Quality Improvement Championship 2016. The competition took place in March in the BMA house. The judging panel comprised of representatives from the Health Foundation, Department of Health, NHS England, McKinsey, Institute for Healthcare Improvement and Directors of all five London Medical Schools. The trophy was given by Dr Andy Mitchell, Director of NHS England-London.

Worked as a research assistant with Kim Butts Pauly’s lab for four weeks in August. During this time, I participated in the group meetings and presented at the weekly journal club. In particular, the current literature on longitudinal assessment of repetitive blood-brain barrier (BBB) opening with focused ultrasound (FUS). With the lab’s graduates and fellows I learned more about the animal models applying FUS for neurostimulation and transiently opening the BBB in tumor environments. While contributing to ongoing studies, I honed my skill set on techniques for mouse brain dissection, brain cryosectioning and slice staining.Additionally, I spent time with the CyberKnife team following the multi-disciplinary team of neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists and physicists.⎯ Assisted with contouring of stereotactic radiosurgery targets and radiosensitive structures⎯ Attended neuro-oncology case conferences⎯ Observed initial investigation or follow-up of patients with the neuro-radiology team

Worked as a Team Leader at Columbia's Cerebrovascular Laboratory. My group researched the medical literature available on the future of the Digital Operating Room. Our focus was narrowed to the current and future applications of smart glasses in healthcare. The project culminated in a presentation to the Neurosurgical Department, and the submission of a literature review titled "Clinical and Surgical Applications of Smart Glasses" to a medical journal. Interest in the department led to a case study with Google Glass and personally brokering a partnership between New York Presbyterian Hospital and Context Surgery.

Appointed to Doximity’s Physician Panel and serves as a Doximity liaison providing product advice, beta testing, and strategic feedback to the company.

I spent a week in January during the high season in Dr. Rhomberg’s ski clinic and hospital in Lech. During this time I would spend my mornings and afternoon participating and helping with patient diagnosis, diagnostic imaging and initial treatment of the patients. The patients primarily presented with a torn anterior torn anterior cruciate ligament, sometimes extending to the unhappy triad, broken radius, rotator cuff pain, scapula fracture, back pain, and depressed patella. During the evenings I would assist in the operating room, where there were at least two operations everyday. I sutured the patients and helped with instruments in the arthroscopic procedures.

Shadowing a neurosurgeon, Dr E. Sander Connolly along with other members of the neurosurgical team in the Presbyterian hospital. Observed the differences between the healthcare system in the United States and the United Kingdom. Was able to view many invasive spine and brain surgeries, along with emergency cases. There was a weekly clinic, that I attended and was able to help with getting patient histories. Had the opportunity to attend case of the week sessions with the residents and attending doctors. Furthermore had a chance to attend research presentations from the current Columbia University Medical Students.

Created a new system to take data dynamically from a video game (Company of Heroes 2) with javascript and JSON to automatically load statistics about abilities, units, upgrades and weapons. That data was used to create an eGuide for Prima Games. These statistics would use the game data directly, thus whenever there was a patch or update of the video game the statistics loaded by the eGuide would also be updated.

Working as a lab assistant in Dr Queelim Ch’ng’s lab. Specifically handling PCR and DNA sequencing for vector implantation. The current research is focused on neuroendocrine regulation of aging and physiology.

Spent one week working with a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) company - TOA Technologies. I provided assistance with search engine and press release optimization and exposure, as well as helping with several aspects of their website architecture.

Develop a website for a Bangladeshi school using a combination of Flash and XML programming. The website has an underlying script so that a dedicated mobile version is loaded when accessing the homepage from a mobile device.

Created a ‘landing’ page for a new upcoming music label called Beacon Records. This provided clients a way of getting in contact with the company before the main website was ready for the public.

Worked approximately 60 hours over a two-week period as the co-director of Archery in the high adventure summer camp, coordinating and training scouts with the bow and arrow.
