Biomedical technology company incorporated in 2011 to develop medical products for the ultra-acute treatment of traumatic brain injury. Responsible for R&D, regulatory compliance and liaison for military SBIR funding and private investors.

Oversaw broad portfolio of departmental research activities, including neurotrauma, brain tumors, neurovascular, neuro-stem cells and advanced medical devices. Advised and verified faculty and staff compliance on regulatory issues and Sponsor-required reporting. Advised Dept. Chair on strategic planning on long-term funding opportunities and identified new funding sources for faculty and residents. Provided writing assistance for peer-reviewed publications for junior faculty and residents. Met with potential donors and presented departmental research highlights to non-technical audiences.

Principal Investigator for laboratory research for neurotrauma and stroke. Supervised a lab of 20+ staff, faculty and students. Taught introductory neuroscience and neuropharmacology laboratory courses. Served as Chair of Neurosurgery Resident Research Committee overseeing all resident research activities. Supervised and directed lab members in conducting 7 Federally-funded grants for neurotrauma research with annual budget of $1.2M. Prepared annual lab budget, and approved annual subgroup budgets ranging from $75-250K.
