With over twenty years of experience as a professor and researcher in wireless communications and signal processing, I have developed a strong expertise in the design and analysis of the physical and MAC layer of communication networks, especially for beyond-5G and 6G scenarios. I am currently an associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Communications, a prestigious journal in my field, where I review and edit high-quality papers on cutting-edge topics and technologies.I am also a part-time professor at Politecnico di Milano, one of the top engineering universities in Italy, and an affiliate researcher with CNIT, a national consortium for telecommunications. I am involved in teaching, supervising, and collaborating with graduate and undergraduate students, as well as leading and participating in several research projects funded by national and international agencies and private companies. I am the general coordinator of the H2020-MSCA-ITN META WIRELESS project, which aims to explore the potential of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces for wireless communications. I have published more than 170 technical papers in journals and conferences, and contributed to several book chapters on signal processing for wireless networks. We received about 80 submissions, and at the end 25 were accepted for inclusion in the special issue (acceptance rate 0.31). We have investigated on issues such as energy-efficiency at the physical layer of wireless networks and on non-cooperative resource allocation algorithms for energy efficiency. I have also been the WP5 co-leader on dissemination and outreach.
