Stefan Oppl is a full professor of technology-enhanced learning, head of the Department of Continuing Education Research and Educational Technologies and dean of the Faculty of Education, Arts and Architecture at Danube-University Krems, Austria. He has studied computer science (MSc) and applied knowledge management (MBA) at the Johannes Kepler University of Linz and finished his PhD in computer science at the Technical University of Vienna in 2010. Since 2003, he is working in academia. He was first affiliated with the Department of Pervasive Computing at JKU, where he was working in the area of context-aware group support and mobile learning support systems. Since 2005, he was affiliated with the Department of Business Information Systems - Communications Engineering at JKU, where he is researching means to support collaborative work and knowledge externalization and alignment processes in organizational settings. He was involved in several national and EU-founded research project, has been the coordinator of the EU FP7-founded research project IANES and also led the Leonardo-da-Vinci Transfer-of-Innovation project FARAW and the Erasmus Intensive Programme SURGEOM. In 2016/17, he has been a visiting researcher at Radboud University Nijmegen via an Erwin-Schrödinger-Fellowship granted by the Austrian Science Fund. In 2019, he has joined Danube-University Krems as a full professor.
