Together with Simon Whitfield and Jasper Blake, created and operated a non-profit organization that provided funding and support to up-and-coming (i.e. top junior) triathletes in exchange for those athletes performing a variety of engagements at schools that were focussed on motivating kids to become active. As part of the service, we helped train the athlete participants in public speaking and related skills to ensure their school engagements were successful.

Performed a variety of services for clients, including: designing and putting into operation an online coaching system, overseeing all aspects of promotional events for organizations; organizing athletic events; devising and implementing sponsorship and marketing programs for individuals and organizations, training individuals and groups to achieve specific fitness goals and writing articles, manuals and presentations for individuals and organizations.

10 time national triathlon team member; representing Canada as an elite on the ITU World Cup circuit and at the World Championships.

London, Ontario

Founded and ran the triathlon club at the University of Western Ontario, and together with the presidents of triathlon clubs at three other universities in Ontario, created and ran an indoor event series based out of the 4 different universities. The races consisted of a 15-minute indoor pool swim followed by a 5-minute break to get from pool to bikes followed by a 15-minute bike on a stationary bike followed by a 5-minute break to get from bikes to the track followed by a 15-minute run on an indoor track. The events were held with participants going in waves over the course of a morning. Participants were scored based on point scale where you could achieve up to 1,000 points in each sport based on how far you went in the 15 minutes. The purpose of this series was to create a low cost, fun, safe and unstressful way to initiate newcomers to the sport of triathlon. These races sold out quickly, and the series expanded to other universities and the Ontario InterUniversity Triathlon Association (OITA) was born to oversee it. OITA then worked together with Triathlon Canada to help select athletes to compete in the triathlon at the World University Games.
