Accepted opportunity with this private research university to aid in the development of methods, conduct large-scale parameter studies and instruct graduate and undergraduate students in physics and computer science. Carried out scientific research in the field of stellar dynamical Monte Carlo simulations and specifically in the area of dynamical evolution of dense stellar systems containing black holes. Participated in all the stages of the implementation of the resulting methods from prototyping in high-level languages to the development in a high performance computing environment. Led small development teams and utilized pair-programming. Published results in major professional journals and presented at major conferences.- Extended the Cluster Monte Carlo (CMC) code written in C and Fortran to improve performance and increase code speed by a factor of two using OpenMP- Designed the overall structure and methodology of the CUDA part of the CMC code and assisted undergraduate and graduate students with implementation and debugging systems as needed.- Playing key role in the MPI parallelization project, an interdisciplinary effort to make the multi-physics, multi-scale code CMC scalable to more than 1000 processors in order to calculate orders of magnitude larger stellar systems than are currently researched.- Proposed and designed two projects, Intermediate-Mass Black Holes and Formation of Black Hole X-ray Binaries in Globular Clusters, each including an extensive parameter study, necessary extensions to the CMC code, as well as data analysis in Python/Cython using NumPy.- Authored grant requests and earned The Hubble Space Telescope Theory Grant and the Chandra X-ray Telescope Theory Grant totaling $170,000.

Utilized a wide variety of methodologies and techniques, statistical analysis, quantitative and qualitative methods to conduct theoretical research to advance the field of star and planet formation for a renowned research institution. Conducted studies using computer simulations for results presentations at major conferences and publications in major professional journals.- Authored code to solve a diffusion type partial differential equation describing the evolution of a viscous accretion disk which included detailed calculations of the temperature structure. Analyzed resulting data sets in Python using Numpy, PyTables, and HDF5.- Created scripts for conference websites to streamline registration information and update participant lists; efforts effectively reduced administrative overhead.

Primary activity entailed development of a web interface for customer data acquisition.- Single-handedly created a fully functional servlet and object-oriented database as well as designed the tables for the relational database.- Streamlined processes to send out evaluation materials through the design of software that facilitated the addition and removal of input fields without changing code base.
