Secondments for Fata's Avon and Desida peaking plants.This project involved the provision of site construction supervision staff to Fata for the balance of plant (BOP) on full-time secondment. Aurecon provided secondment services for Fata's Avon and Dedisa peaking plants. The scope entailed project planning, electrical services and building services including mechanical, electrical, fire and water services. At the Avon peaking plant, Aurecon was appointed to assist with the checking on conformity of the grid code compliance as well as the on-site quality control of the 132 kV peaking plant consisting of 4 x 200 MVA generators with gas insulated system (GIS) switchgear, outdoor transformers and interconnectors with the Eskom substation. At the Desida plant, Aurecon performed the same services for 2 x 200 MVA generators.Responsibilities included the supervision of the contractors involved in electrical construction, supervision of instrumentation installation and supervision of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation installation of firefighting equipment.Responsible for installing and terminating the overhead conductor on the plant's four 120/200 MVA three-phase step-up transformers. KwaDukuza medium-voltage (MV) upgrades North: 2012/2013.KwaDukuza Local Municipality, as part of the capital budget for the 2012/2013 financial year through the supply chain management (SCM) process, appointed Aurecon as electrical engineering consultants for the upgrading of 11 kV medium-voltage (MV) networks.
