About Steffen Ritter
Working in enterprise CMS and E-Commerce projects doing Requirements Analysis, Architecture Definition and project management during the last ten years I focused myself on modern web application architectures which focus on cybersecurity and resilient integration patterns from the beginning. Being a father of two, I am living in the rural wine growing area "Naheland" - half an hour south west of the economic centers of the Rhine-Main-area - I like to enjoy Scotch, wine and fine food as a counter-part for work stressors.Since 2005 I have registered a company. Getting in touch with the CMS TYPO3 doing community service, quickly led my business focus to change towards services around web-pages based on TYPO3: Back then I already had the personal ambition to do things "right": best practice, modern standards and device compatibility. In self-employment I am still available part time helping small companies to write the right things into their web RFPs or doing small-scale consulting.At AOE I am able to work alongside customers as well as colleagues who also value my professional ambitions and I am happy that I can share my experience and help customers to do things better, more secure, reliable and future proof. First, I was drawn to AOE as Freelancer. The self-empowered way of working combined with the possibilities to work in a way that allow to work fulfilling my self-expectations, first made me sign into employment and know kept me working with AOE for over 8 years by now.During my time offering TYPO3 services I became an active community member fostering the further development of that open-source project. For many years I was part of the so-called CMS-Team which organized and managed new releases for that software. Outstanding tasks taken by me have been the role of the release manager for version 4.7, owning major file-abstraction layer initiatives as well as being a speaker and representative on conferences and community events all around the world.Alongside work I started studying Computational Engineering Science at the RWTH Aachen. I heavily benefit on the ways problem solving is done in engineering and math in day to day work. I switched to a more tangible stream of education: Applied Computer Science. There, I got to know yet another angle on how to tackle problems systematically. This, as well as the fact that most of the technical expertise I is not taught at university, I decided to graduate my master in IT-Management to add the economical point of view to my repertoire of tools.

I started in 2016 with concepting ISO-compliant security for the OM3 suite and rapidly saw having a focused view on IT-Security in my daily work.
