i came to this company on 1 november 1996 as a trainee, a bit old for a classic trainee with 30 years, but i was one. when ready to move on 2 years later , i was offered a job in the export sales department. this kind of interested me so i took it on. originally i was doing production planning activities before, so i knew how the factory runs, which turned out to be an important aspect for me later on. knowing and understanding the company you work for from inside, knowing the people who make the company run day to day, and knowing who to speak to to get things done. building up the export sales department, and running it from 2002 onwards was the basis to understanding international projects, and international business. coming to the ME in 2011 seemed like the right time to push the company ahead, and it is something i had strong feelings for personally as well, there was an attraction to this part of the world, and i could see the potential, and the value of the ME for durlum. at the same time i am grateful for my person and my family to do business here. my job merges with my private life, i have to identify with my job, i see it as one and i push ahead.Today the biggest challenge and also focus for me is to invest more time into business development. an area which is interesting, where you connect to people and Design, and cover all aspects of technical and commercial. it is a global activity, which is vital for future business, to understand market trends, to get the immediate response of those using your product in order to Design new projects. i developed the export department in our german headquarters, and opened the ME office for durlum in 2011. my skills range from creating specifications with 20 years of experience in our product range, networking skills, project calculations, international marketing and sales, project management, interfacing from design to installation, negotiating contracts of all types and all sizes.in 2018 an opportunity popped up to move on to France to replace the current MD, in one of the production facilities of the durlum group. It is the main facility for the production of open cell ceilings which are a strong seller in the home market France and as strong a seller into the durlum group outside France. We kicked it off with the Architects@work in Paris in sept 2018 with the products #loop #polylam #point #Lumeo.from oct 2018 - jan 2023 i held the post of MD of the company at which point i left durlumen S.A.
