Steffie de Leeuw is a Dutch artist and designer based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Deeply inspired by fine art, the great masters, and the unique beauty of nature, Steffie's creative journey began early, influenced by her father's passion for art, music, and his own talents as an amateur painter and sculptor. He taught her to see the beauty in the world around us, a lesson that profoundly shapes her work today.Steffie holds degrees from the University of Amsterdam and the Willem de Kooning Art Academy in Rotterdam. After completing her studies, she embarked on her artistic career, initially focusing on oil paintings. Her love for art is intertwined with a passion for travel, nature, and wildlife, influences evident in her frequent depiction of lions and other felines—a nod to her surname, de Leeuw (the Lion).Her work merges inspiration from her travels, imagination, and fictional influences to create a distinctive, imaginative world. Over the past decades, her artistic journey has encompassed various forms, culminating in a diverse body of work.Since graduating from the Willem de Kooning Art Academy in 2000, Steffie has produced numerous artworks and commissioned pieces for prominent retail brands. Her creations include illustrations and print designs for fashion items, home furnishings, accessories, luxury scarves, wallpaper, and more, all featuring her vibrant, handcrafted artworks.Two of her artwork series are available through the international gallery Lumas.
