For most of my career, I spent consulting and teaching about the intricacies of Web Development, UX, and Digital Marketing to small and medium-sized business owners through my business Evolv LLC. However, my time spent strategizing AND implementing these solutions helped me to realize the value of business analytics tools like Salesforce, Data Cloud, and Tableau as well as Enterprise Architecture principles.I am humbled by the many diverse job opportunities (small and large) that have taught me the valuable lessons I needed to learn. As a business owner for 10+ years I learned how to manage employees, clients, with standardized procedures and comprehensive training documentation. In my last two roles at Green Built Alliance and Health Data Movers, I transitioned to Salesforce-oriented roles focused on improving efficiency and business processes through centralized data systems, workflow automations, ensuring data quality, and detailed training documentation. In many cases, this required cleaning and reconciling old data, customizing page layouts and record types, utilizing dashboards and reports to confirm data discrepancies, setting up consistent structures/workflows, and transitioning staff from manual to digital or automated data entry using Mobile Apps, Flows, or Excel Automate tools. However, during these large transitions I learned that having a change management strategy with clear vision, benefits analysis, and proper training is key for successful adoption. My most memorable work experience was working for Phase One Consulting Group (acquired by Accenture) as a subcontracted UX designer. During the first 90 days of President Obama’s Administration, we had to implement the first iteration of Data.gov to centralize government data into a public searchable online database.My drive and genuine interest in solving business problems has enabled me to thrive in most environments, and I owe a lot of my inspiration and insights to my Enterprise Architecture training and owning a business for many years. Because of these experiences I adapt to change very easily and am most inspired by teams that embrace innovational change.
