CurrentAs the founder and owner of Guava Jammies, I lead an indigenous, mama-owned business focused on creating high-quality, sustainable children's clothing inspired by Native Hawaiian culture and mo‘olelo (storytelling). I oversee all aspects of the business, from product design and development to eco-friendly manufacturing processes, ensuring our bamboo clothing is comfortable, durable, and environmentally responsible. Our mission is to blend cultural heritage with modern, sustainable fashion, bringing awareness to social, cultural, and environmental issues affecting our local communities.Key responsibilities:Managing day-to-day operations, from design to production, sales, and customer experience.Creating unique, culturally relevant designs that reflect Hawaiian values and storytelling.Leading efforts to minimize environmental impact through sustainable materials and ethical manufacturing.Building partnerships with local businesses and communities to expand Guava Jammies’ reach across the pae ‘āina.Developing and executing strategic marketing plans for both direct-to-consumer and wholesale segments.Supporting community initiatives by empowering other mothers and advocating for indigenous and cultural preservation.
