Senior M&E engineer for RAF Waddington Runway refurbishment project (value £52 million), I was responsible for the managing of all M&E and associated civil works in line with the project. I reviewed all M&E designs and assisted the design team. All these works were compliant to all Civilian and DIO Standards. Working closely with other senior managers and line managing a team of 4 and numerous subcontractors to complete out these works.

Special Projects E&M Technical Officer Grade C2 The site had great deal of installations and equipment that failed to meet current regulations/standards or was not fit for purpose.Researched, developed, designed, wrote tender specifications, carried out tender reviews, chaired pre-start meetings, programmed works, regularly audited works for compliance and time keeping, held regular progress meetings, witnessed commissioning and reviewed all test certificates and maintenance manuals. These are only a few key projects I have managed.• Development of new Constant Current Regulators (CCR) to supply AGL circuits.• Renovation of Taxi Track lighting circuits with innovative LED technology.• Upgrade and replacement of High Voltage/Low Voltage Distribution Sub-Stations.• Refurbishment of 2 Dental Surgeries while maintaining the operation of the other surgery. • Various electrical projects in support of the Typhoon Aircraft.• Extensive projects within explosive buildings.The result of these projects reduced H&S risks, maintenance costs, stores holdings, power consumption, CO2 emissions, environmental hazards, loss of services and gave greater resilience to the stakeholders. Developed best practices for the use of newly installed innovations which now forms part of Government policy and tender documents. Due to my in-depth technical knowledge of BS, EN and DIO Standards, acted as the SME for my team, the RAF and the contractors. Many of these projects were carried out on a rolling programme over many years usually employing between 2 to 6 staff per-project and specialist contractors.

Training military and civilian staff to become APs on a rolling programme. Developed new computerised training software with a programming team, to aid, the training of new APs.Whilst an AP there has been no accidents and all external audits carried have found the site fully compliant. Introduced new computerised system allowing the staff to train on an active HV mimic of the site without them being placed at risk, or the possible loss of supply to the stakeholders.Technical Officer Measured Term Contractor (MTC)Carrying out E&M projects utilising Property Services Agency Schedule of Rates pricing documents. Carried out the design of M&E projects and costing works up to £240k using PSA Schedule of Rates. Producing Rough Order of Costs (ROC) for each project E&M works and acquiring the assistance of B&C Technical Staff for costing of building works. Managed the projects from strategic definition to handover & Close out. Responsible for verifying the bill of quantities and resolving disputes of bills of quantities submitted by the MTC. Trained military and civilian staff in the use of PSA Schedule of Rates. The projects were successfully completed on time and in line with the ROC except were there were unforeseen works or delays caused by third parties. Assisted in the rewrite of the PSA schedule of rates. Responsible for the contractor who employed 16 resident staff plus specialist contractors when required.

Contract Supervisor for 9 MOD sites in Gloucestershire carrying out PPM tasks for all sites. Compiling maintenance reports and attending monthly meetings with the client. Implementation of new computerised PPM system. Recruited new staff, carried out staff appraisals and organising all training required for the team. Awarding contracts to specialist maintenance contractors and large projects works, setting up supply chains for work materials, test equipment and tools. I managed 2 Administrators and 23 Direct Employed Labour plus specialist contacting staff.

Gloucestershire

Carried out all Electrical/Mechanical control systems designs for media blast rooms and cabinets. Purchased all materials for the projects. Site managed large room installation and commissioning. Held regular progress meetings with the clients, carry out onsite audits and addressing any project risks. Units costs from £1.2k to £230K, staffing levels of 2 to 5 depending on project size.
