Histocompatibility Lab

• Perform technical procedures and a variety of tests including Donor/Recipient Crossmatch (Methology: Serology) and HLA Antibody Screening (Methology: Serology/SSOP) to provide data for clinical and research purposes in the Human Leukocyte Antigens (HLA) Laboratory. • Utilize automated, semi-automated and manual equipment and instruments in performing clinical laboratory diagnostic testing procedures and associated functions. • Practice quality control methods common to area of expertise. • Reviewing results for accuracy and completeness before reporting. • Introduce, validate, recommend new test procedures and variations as appropriate.

• Perform laboratory assays in accordance with ASHI's and CAP's standard operating procedures under supervision of a licensed CLS.• Accept or reject research based test results in accordance with standard operating procedures.• Participate in troubleshooting activities and equipment/kit validation in conjunction with the Technical Lab Supervisor.• Assisted the Senior Administrative Support staff with preparation, scanning, and quality control of patient charts. • Calibrate and maintain Gene and Small Genome Sequencer (MiSeq) and Real-Time PCR machine (Applied Biosystem 7500 RT PCR System) according to standard operating procedures to ensure quality results.
