— Yocto/OpenEmbedded based distribution and SDK development, on which IOS XE is based, and its adaptation to Cisco devices.— Some specific development in Linux kernel while getting IOS XE running on new devices (x86-64, arm64, mips64), in various kernel subsystems like DTS, hardware-specific reboot code, kdump, memory management, connectors (netlink based interface for kernel-userspace communication), etc.— Porting drivers to new kernel versions.— Analyzing and backporting patches.— Submitting patches upstream (Linux kernel, OpenEmbedded).— Mentoring a trainee. Linux kernel development, mostly memory management.— Backporting improvements and fixes for various subsystems from the mainline kernel to vendor's kernel used in OS Tizen for Samsung Smart TV.— Analyzing kernel crash reports, fixing bugs.— Developed a debugging tool for CMA (contiguous memory allocator) then used in the engineering process in Samsung.— Submitted some patches to the Linux kernel community (some were accepted to the kernel).

Teaching assembly language (x86, GAS, AT&T syntax). Labs, exams.

— Developing Linux device drivers used in a test bench for onboard avionics (PCI, PCE-E, USB, attached on Fibre Channel and MIL-STD-1553).— Testing of the developed device drivers (writing user-space tests in C using the driver API, as well as using test bench software).— System administration tasks: mailing lists, trac, git repositories, installing and upgrading software, installing and configuring GNU/Linux distributions on test bench PCs, etc.
