I was a partner in a Hong Kong company for trading commodities between China and Europe. The business stopped when China shut down due to Covid. As a part of a group, I negotiated an agreement between the seller of crude oil in Russia and the buyer in China for four mill barrels/month. Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the contract was terminated three weeks before the first delivery. I am currently supporting small projects in the oil industry.

Project manager for the construction of three solar parks in Malaysia with the total effect of 150 MW and with a cost of 330 mill USD.The PV parks are located in Gurun(Kedda), Jasin (Melleka) and Merchang (Terengganu). All PV parks are constructed in parallel.

I was deputy project manager and responsible for completion and delivery of a major project related to subsea work-over systems. This project manufactured and delivered the world's biggest and most complex work-over system, with interface towards all models of subsea x-mas trees from three different vendors for use in the Norwegian part of the North Sea. The value of the contract was about USD 500 mill.

I invested in small oil service technology companies. I also worked with a project to establish a company for completion service together with a former colleague.

Responsible for Completion training, SLB completion department

I established the completion department for Schlumberger in Turkmenistan. The completion department was set up to be able to perform installation of intelligent completion systems.My office was in Ashgabat, where I was preparing the completion program and design together with the client Petronas. I established a completion workshop at the Schlumberger base in the town of Balkanabat, 300 km from the capital Ashgabat.The purpose of setting up the completion operations was to perform the first multi zone completions and the first wells with down hole gauge in Turkmenistan.Turkmenistan is an extreme difficult country to operate in and almost everything you need has to be imported from other countries. It is a very bureaucratic system and it takes very long time to sort things out.As a result of my efforts, Schlumberger won a completion contract for 40 offshore wells with an option for additional 100 wells.

Responsible for Completion and Reservoir monitoring and control.Schlumberger had its biggest completion contract worldwide with TCO (joint venture between Chevron and Kazakhstan government) in Tengiz, Kazakhstan. It was a complex completion operation in a high risk area. It was very high temperature and pressure and contained a large proportion of gas with poisonous hydrogen sulfide.Due to bad service quality, we had been close to losing the contract with TCO before I joined.I implemented a quality plan, improved the work environment and organization and managed to improve our service quality. Kazakhstan's Government demanded that 90 percent of the workforce came from Kazakhstan. I made a plan to train local employees, to be able to run completion operations. After two years, 30 employees were able to run completion operations and we were able to run 3 completions with gauges at the same time with a 100 % Kazakh crew. After the changes were implemented, we received quarterly bonus for the first time as a result of improved service quality.

Responsible for Completion products in Egypt, Sudan and Syria. My main responsibility was to introduce high tech completion products to the markets in Egypt and Syria. I arranged symposiums for the managements in the oil companies and courses for the engineers. I visited my clients in Syria and Egypt on regular basis. My responsibility included following up on existing contracts and tender for new contracts in all three countries.We were two sales engineers who shared the market for core completion, and I was alone with intelligent completion.

Military Observer based in UNTSO (United Nation Truce Supervision Organization) Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt.I was reported on the conflict between Israel and Syria, Lebanon and Israel and the conflicts between other fractions like Hezbollah and Israel. I made reports daily about the situation in my area as part of the daily report sent from UNTSO HQ in Jerusalem to UN Security Council in New York.A military observer must keep close relations to all parties in the conflict area, perform weapon inspections and investigation of violations of agreements between the parties in the conflict. To get an overview of the situation, you need to keep relations to the civilian society, politicians, religious leaders and military leaders.

I performed operations related to Open Hole Completions, External Casing packers, Installation of Multilateral wells, Installation of down-hole pumps, Completion, Coil Tubing and ESP pumps.

Construction of steel framework for offices and industrial buildings.In the mid 90's, steel was taking a big part of the market share from concrete in Norway. We secured an agreement with a company that produced elements for steel framework on west coast of Norway for projects in the Oslo area. All projects were delivered 100 % successfully. We did not agree with the manufacturer of the steel elements regarding price and decided to either start our own production or leave the business and we decided to leave the business.

Liaison Officer and winter warfare adviser for AMF (L), (Ace Mobile Force (Land)) -NATO's immediate reaction force.I worked as an advisor in winter warfare and as a liaison officer between the Norwegian Army and Royal Army / Royal Air Force

Platoon Commander, armed infantry platoon. I was platoon commander for a platoon with 50 private and officers. The platoon covered many square kilometers with 4 section positions and platoon HQ. The platoon was equipped with rapid response unit and armed vehicles. We were involved in different serious incidents.

Import, sale and marketing of food products. I started together with investors, introduction of new snack products in Norway. Part of the business went well, the other part took longer time to develop than expected, and the investors decided to pull out from the business

Construction of roads and power lines

The company was selling day cruisers, cabin cruisers etc. It went bankrupt in 1987.

Construction of Nyset Stegje hydroelectric power plant.I conducted control of concrete jobs and performed, land surveying of roads in connection with dam construction and tunneling projects.
